Illustrator can't open .svg file error [CANT]

Using svg file, saved work, closed file then when tried to open again I get error message The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANT]

SVG is an XML-based file format. If Illustrator can't open it, open the SVG in a text editor and make sure that the file is complete and looks to be formatted correctly. It might be a bug. Is your software updated? There might have been bug fixes released.

In the save dialog, there should be a checkbox to keep illustrator editing functions. Is that active?
