Illustrator halftone to Freehand 10?

Does anyone know how to sucessfully send a Illustrator file with a halftone to Freehand 10, without it replacing the halftone, filled black?

I need to be able to pull it apart. I've tried saving it as an eps, pdf, Illustrator 1 through to 10????:mad:
