Instructions:

- For Route Planning - Tap on the train icon on the top left of the screen, once the box expands click next to the train icon and either type in the name of the Start station or choose from tube map. Then tap on the right side of the expanded box and enter your destination - by either typing or choosing from tube map.

- To see the list of POIs close to each station - Tap and hold on a station in the tube map and it should pop up with icons related to the POIs. Note: not all stations on the Tube Map have POIs near them.

Hmmm - Its a shame that the author of this thread also seems to be the publisher/author of the app and also wrote the first two reviews on the app store raving about his own app..... Was vaguely interested until I saw that - I'll avoid thanks.

How does that affect a decision to buy an application?

I'm trying to advertise an application - what's wrong with that? I think it has excellent features and would like others to have a crack at it. I was only testing the review process of the app. Now i can't take it off, if you know of a way to delete those, I'm happy to do that.

Your interface needs some work. I can see three or four different fonts in these screenshots and the buttons at the bottom aren't very clear or attractive.

The concept needs some work. The tube map is available free by googling "london tube map" (and can be made available offline by any of the free storage apps). Tube maps are also available for free all over the underground.

The info is stuff you could find from a 10 minute google search. If you live in London, this is simple. If you don't, you're likely to have spent at least 10 minutes on Google searching for places to go.

Not trying to deflate, but I really don't see much value in the application. Especially when it costs £5. I really think you need to add something to justify the price. Maybe go around to these locations and snap some pictures, make a street-view/quicktime-VR style 3D view. Maybe add a checklist of places for tourists as they go about the city. There's lots more you can do in a travel app that's simply unexplored here.

I haven't spent a lot of time cruising the travel apps - they make me want to go places i can't right now - i like the fact that all the info is available offline so that it's useable for Touch users.

But it sounds like it would be useful, and even though it's been a number of years since i was in London and it was easy enough to find a map and use it, i'd much prefer to carry it this way.

Now to win the powerball, actually buy my Touch and then head to London!

Thanks for your comments. I'll consider improvements in the next version. The street-view/quicktime-VR style 3D view sounds cool - even though I have no idea how to approach that but will look into it.

Just to justify the price - the app has over 700 listings of the best of London based on industry leaders, all available in one place.

You can plan your journey on the tube map available offline - i.e. choose Oxford Circus as your start station and Bank as your destination, and the app will give you the best route to get there displayed nicely on the tube map itself.

You can click on individual stations on the map and it will give you the listings from the POI database closest to that station. Nice and quick and still all available offline - as you're on the underground ideally!
