I know that there are plenty of threads comparing both IM clients. However, these threads were created before the newest updates, and therefore do not address the push capability of both apps, and newest features. So now that Beehive is stable and IM+ is stable and top notch in their current state, which one is superior?

I have IM+, which I purchased when it was on sale. I keep hearing that Beehive is superior, but is it really? Both apps have Push, IM+ has twitter integration which puts it ahead of Beehive. It just seems as if Beehive is placed on a pedestal because of aesthetics. What makes Beehive better? (I ask because I am contemplating purchasing Beehive. However, I cant push myself to purchase it unless it is absolutely worth it, because $10 is steep for an app in my opinion. I just purchased an entire album on Itunes today for less than that!)

Some pros about IM+(that Beehive can't match):
- Twitter integration
- Switch between chats by swiping finger
- Supports more IM clients
- Better chat layout in my opinion (I like the transparent bubbles)
- Geo-location support
- Video transfer support

What are some of Beehive's pros? Is this purchase worth it? Please try to be objective.

IM+ is good with the features and all that but fails for me in one place...speed!

it take 3-4 times longer to open IM+ after a notification.

beejive is much quicker.

I do like IM+ for twitter pushes.

beejive

beejive is better cause it has video support faster at loading and quicker push notifications. Better overall look in my opinion.:apple:

1. You can set shake to change in Beejive.

2 I tried IM+ lite and I think beejive is better in chat layout and thats an opinion so isn't a feature.

3. I can do video in Beejive

Overall they are both at the same level and if one does something the other won't be far behind so don't worry. Overall after looking at reviews I chose beejive because the reviews seemed to be better.

I've had IM+ for a while and finally bought Beejive a few days ago.

Both are good apps, better than AIM.

Beejive is definitely faster loading, which is great when you get a push and want to quickly see the message. Beejive also allows nicknames for each contact, meta-contacts, and allows you to associate contacts with your iphone contact list. It has more flexibility with away messages.

IM+ offers Twitter integration which is nice. I only use AIM and Facebook for chat, so I can't comment on the other services.

Both are good, but I'm thinking Beejive is a bit better at this point.

Edit: forgot to add: Beejive allows you to record a voice note and send it as a link to the recipient. Very cool feature.

to add to my post before ... I like IM+ and would use it as my main app but if you were doing something on your phone and was replying to push notifications off & on and it took 30 seconds to open the app. for every reply it gets super annoying. We will see when the 3.4 update comes to see if anything is faster.

People may want to wait a few days until this comes out.

30 seconds???? are you kidding me?!

Beejive takes about 2 seconds and IM+ takes about 5-7 seconds. I'm on a 3GS.

i just tested it.

IM+ with only one account active (twitter) - 23 seconds

Beejive with 5 accounts active - 5 seconds

IM+ with only MSN account - 8-15 seconds (i tried this a few times)
twitter might slow it down some since it loads timeline, replies, DM's and not just log on like other accounts.

I could be happy with just IM+ and deal with the slow loads but since i have both i can go head-to-head.
I just think beejive is faster, beyond that and a few options they do the exact thing. It's a IM client.

i have im+ and have mixed feelings. sometimes it works great and sometimes it doesn't. i wish i had went with beejive at first as i don't want to pay for another app that does the same thing
