So I own have carrot weather on my phone and watch and saw it’s 14.99 on the MacBook store. After contacting carrot about the difference in the apps he said I should have it already since I already own and subscribe. Well it wants me to pi’s the 14.99. Here was his response

“Click and hold the menu button in the top right corner of the Mac app to bring up my command line. (If you see a gear button instead of a menu button in the corner, go to my preferences then turn off the “Hide Dock icon” option.)”

Sorry I’m lost on how to find this. I’m new to the Macs. Always had iPhones, iPads and watches

Wait, you contacted Carrot Weather developers to ask about advice whether you should have to pay $14.99 for the Mac app, and the developer's response included a step you have to do in that app? This is a bit confusing what you might be describing. The developer response doesn't seem to have anything to do with buying the Mac app.

If you already bought the Mac app and you want to hide the dock icon, I can see the developer's advice being helpful, but it's not clear that's what you're asking for. If this is what you want to do, could you paste a screenshot of the Mac app so we can help you find the menu or gear icon?

Happy to help you find what you need, but some clarity about what you're trying to do would go a long way.

Sorry for the confusion. The app says 14.99 and then there are also tiers you can buy. I let him know I have the iPhone app and asked what do you get for the initial 14.99 purchase. He said it should be free as I paid for the tier 1 of the iPhone app

OK, that makes more sense. Is the developer going to resolve the store issue with Apple?

exactly. So regardless I have to spend an extra 14.99. No thanks

Well, I whole-heartedly agree. @MakerOfCARROT should work for free so you don't have to pay for the macOS version of the app he created and maintains. How horrible of him to even suggest such a thing! {/sarcasm}

Dude, he created the app. You gotta pay. (Or don't pay - but don't even think about bashing a developer for requiring you to pay for the app they create.) ... Do you work for free or does your boss pay you?

Not bashing. I love the app on my phone and watch. Just not sure I need it for the Mac as well.
