Hello Everyone!

This is my first post here but i come here often to read. Yesterday by boyfriend was snooping through my phone so i quickly change the passcode on it and forgot it. I was able to sync it to itunes to reset the time limit on it to give me infinite chances to guess the passcode but no luck. I proceeded to then restore it but then it asks to verify with Apple first then declines me. How can I restore this thing as i cannot get in to let cydia store the id i need? or do i have a new brick

It still wants to verify with apple :(

Unfortunately even if you get into Cydia you won't be able to store the SHSH blob for 3.1.2, as Apple is no longer signing it. If you restore, you're stuck with 3.1.3, unless you have a 3G or 2G.

@OP, do you know what it means by "verify" with Apple? I've never seen that message before myself. I wonder what they check for...

I'm assuming the OP has a 3Gs. It looks like you're going to have to update to the latest version of the firmware if you haven't already stored your SHSH blobs. Storing those should be the first thing you ever do when you freshly jailbreak to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

For a 3Gs you can't jailbreak the new firmware. So basically, if you haven't stored your hashes you're SOL. Sorry!

They check to make sure you're installing the latest version; they don't want you installing any older firmware versions for whatever reason.

If your SHSH for 3.1.2 is already saved, then you can restore using Saurik's solution simply by editing your hosts file to point Saurik's server instead of Apple's. If it is not already stored, then it is too late and you can do nothing but restore to 3.1.3 and lose your ability to jailbreak and unlock for the foreseeable future.

Or you could brute-force it. Typing in 10,000 permutations shouldn't take more than, what...fifteen or twenty hours?
