I am using the demo unit at best buy to write this
For me screen resolution seems fine, I think the people who are complaining are just spoiled
The online keyboard is a little difficult to use but I am getting the hang of it

each time i've played with an iPad in store, (thinking about buying soon) i find that hunt and peck works best. because you cant rest your hands on the keyboard.

My hands are big so I have found portrait mode using both of my thumbs works great. I can reach all the keys and type pretty darn fast.

I did this exact same thing last night at the apple store, though I was typing pretty fast with two hands when I first got it. I found it pretty easy since I type all the time with a wireless keyboard on my lap. I was just whiling away the time and setting my feelings for the device in concrete waiting for my 3G version coming later this month. I was absolutely amazed at how responsive and fast it was correcting typos. Woo Hoo!

After a week you will be typing pretty fast with it.

Agreed. It is not really a mater
of comparing the iPad virtual keyboard to a traditional one - it is more about learning how to master the keyboard in this new format. I find that I am not typing with the traditional finger placement, but I am still typing as fast as I would on my laptop.

Don't forget to check and see if you have any reward point dollars toward the purchase.

Would anyone happen to know if Best Buy is offering special financing on the iPads? I want to get one but it would be cool if they offered 12 months no interest etc.. :)

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Wow. The iPad has really turned Macrumors into Twitter.

I typed this in just over five seconds.

When I get into a groove on my iPad I can type at a fairly quick clip. It's certainly easy enough to get what I need to get done in it done. The autocorrect sometimes screws me over though, just like on my iPhone. And nah, I didn't time this paragraph, watching golf at the same time.

Did they let you take it with you? ;)

I wish;)
I had to leave because I had been using it for nearly 20 minutes and the apple specialists were eyeing me
when i first tried to type I was finger pecking, but I soon figured it out and by the time I typed my original post I had the hang of it, however I found that typing while holding with one hand was very awkward because of the size of the keyboard, they should offer an option to use a iphone size keyboard because then you could finger peck a lot faster while holding it with the other hand
I had no problem with finger prints, you can't see them while the screen is turned on, but you can when it is off
Apple made a good choice with the IPS screen, the colors are phenomenal
I think I could read a book on the iPad, I would turn down the brightness though (which you can conveniently do right in iBooks)
I can't wait for the 3g I'm planning on getting a 32gb:D
