I have a Macbook pro and iPhone. I knew this would happen, but I bought one anyways. I hardly ever touch the thing now. I mean, it's cool and all, but I haven't figured where it should get use in my electronics paradigm. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

It's not a toy, for goodness' sake. It's a tool, just like your Mac and/or your iPhone.

Go download some new apps for it or something. Maybe get a game or two, if you're wanting some excitement.

Yep all three of mine are gathering dust --- er I mean finger prints

In the real world - the only thing gathering dust on my Pads is the 3G Radio - have not needed to turn on due to Verizon Mifi - Wifi etc...

Me too

I have two MacBook Pros and an iPhone, but I haven't got an iPad.

Still, I'm bored with it already. :)

If you knew it would happen why did you buy one?

So you could go and troll around on some forums?

I've heard people say it is primarily a content consumption device. So why not go find some content for it? It is easy to get bored if you're not willing to pay for content though. Reading the same websites eventually gets old.

says the guy thats been on MR for 7 years lol! hahaha jksjks

I'm starting to like my iPad more and more, especially now that I've had it long enough that I don't feel the need to treat it like a holy relic. Some days I might not touch my MacBook Pro, others I might not touch the iPad. It depends what I'm up too. They're different tools for different needs, but equally wonderful.

If it bores you, you were likely buying it as a band aid for some other boredom you were already experiencing. Retail therapy is a poor fix for boredom in general.

Your problem isn't the iPad.

When men get bored, they turn to internet porn. That's what I recommend now.

Oh, wait... The iPad doesn't 'do' Flash and Jobs doesn't 'dig' porn. Well, it's PacMan-time then!

For me, it took almost year to get bored with my iPhone. I wish I had a tablet with a matte screen that would be ideal to read a few e-books and pdfs. I get a lot of books in pdf, I don't want to waste ink on them but I hate my MBPs' glossy screens.

I bought it because I wanted it,. why else do people buy things they don't need, you arrogant, ignorant dolt!

There's a difference between buying things you don't need and buying things you know you won't use and will grow bored with.

Good luck selling it though. It should still have a relatively high resale value if you can't return it.

The iPad's supposed to make things easier, not entertain you :/

Download Instapaper, probably the thing that I use my iPad for the most, besides just surfing the web on it. Just I just much prefer to read / browse while lying around.

If you knew that it was going to happen, yet you purchased one anyway, then I believe the jokes on you. Who's the dolt again?

Clearly, Apple needs to start making more interesting devices, like everyone else in the tech industry does.

Holy Cow! The one iPad owner -- out of probably close to two million -- that is bored with the iPad is gracing us with his presence. It's like a Lochness or Big Footfoot sighting. Wow. I feel part of history now. :D

I feel quite certain that porn addicts like yourself will always find a way to get your fix no matter what Steve Jobs does to keep his company's online store smut-free.

Call your mum, before calling me names

You little prude, what makes you calling me a "porn addict"? I'm only adult, unlike you. You must have misunderstood something.

Giggity!

I had a similar experience with Kindle2/Kindle DX. I hope it doesn't happen to me with my new iPad. Since, it's not available in Australia, I had ample time to think about how I would use it along with MacBook and iPhone.

Oh, so all "adults" automatically like porn? You must have misunderstood something...it's called logic.

Come on, you started it! You are not the best authority on logic or manner, when I consider what triggered you to start name-calling.

Yes, I think you are either a child or just an immature person.
