Either pop into an Apple Store or wherever you bought it from! Basically, Apple will replace the screen for you. I think its about £140 but don't quote me on that! I'm assuming you didn't purchase any insurance from the retailer? If not then double check if home/bank insurance will cover any cost.

Word of warning...if you bought it from O2 direct they may try and fob you off to Carphone Warehouse, claiming that they do iPhone repairs. This is not the case! All repairs are handled by Apple so they have to send it away for repair for you.

Times like this I wish Apple did the mail in service for iPhones like they do for iPods!

the thing thats so sick, is i upgraded my bank account to silver status mainly for the mobile phone insurance that it included, obv im on holiday when i drop the iphone, and when i return home 4 days later and apply i get a big fat 'NO', apparently you need to apply within 48 hours of the 'accident'

FML

i guess its ganna be ~£140 going to apple store

Gutted! A bit harsh though. Is there no room for appeal? On a silver account there must be overseas cover otherwise they're just taking the mick.

Good luck getting it sorted!

cheers, yeh i think the bank were very harsh about it. but tbh i have full coverage with accident insurance included, so i guess i can be as reckless as i want and if it somehow gets broken by me slipping by a swimming pool and falling in, then i guess they'll just have to replace it for me, lol

but i guess for the time being ill prob wait, the functionality is fine, it just looks terrible. when i dont have insane tuition fees to arrange payment for ill look into a new screen

Check your travel insurance!!!!

good idea, checking now,

upon inspection of small print i see that i am not covered under personal liablility for accidents caused by myself due to use of 'any explosive nuclear weapon or device of the emission of fissile material emitting a level of radioactivity capable of causing incapacitating dismemberment or death'

lol
