OK the App Store is clearly available, however as weve seen, you have to take an interesting method to get there. Also, downloading these things is nice, but useless til I have the 2.0 software on my Touch. Is the firmware coming out at 9pm PT today, or 8 tomorrow to coincide with the iPhone launch. This is all very confusing with all the rumors.

I'm hoping the rumors are correct, because then the release is less than a half hour away :)

No it's not, I clicked the "Check for update" button on my iPod Touch's main screen on iTunes, and it says that the 1.1.4 software I have is the most recent.

It's on the Apple site. Not in iTunes. You can update to it by Option-clicking Restore.

Remember though it is AYOR at the moment…

Read some of the threads and have a look where some people are running into problems.

Otherwise you might just get this message from Apple: ;)

He is referring to the method of getting the 2.0 from the apple server by downloading it from the link.

Apparently that method only works on iPhones.

I read somewhere that someone's Touch was bricked using that method.
... probably because Touch users have to pay $9.99 and can't use that method.
