I'm getting terrible screen tearing in games on the new 2020 iMac

Basic configuration with the 512 GB SSD and Radeon Pro 5300

FPS and ping reported by the game itself are normal, but it's pretty much a slide show with 2 FPS in every game, even retro 90s games I used to run in crossover that worked just fine on the 2017 imac.

On each frame there's a 1 second pause.

This happens with OpenGL and Metal rendering. The latest software installed.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't received my iMac yet; It's ordered but not here yet. And also a higher end config. But if you want I can report back when I get it - I plan on using the Big Sur beta as I'm pretty happy with it on my laptop and enjoying some of the new development features, so I can also give that perspective
