So I have spent untold thousands on Apple products over the years. For the longest time we would get really useful and cool features years after Android because lore had as "Apple won't release a new feature until they've somehow perfected it" We all knew it was BS. Now, caught with their pants down when this AI fad took off, they had to figure out a way to stay relevant so now we have "Apple Intelligence" aka AI... Yea. I have been running Beta on my 16 Pro in (now fading along one edge Black, oddly where the NEVER used Camera Control button is) sorry I'm rambling, anyway - Running 18.2 now, here are my observations. Writing tools. Um, It will rewrite my text to add a mood etc. Right, on a tinY little screen that I still have to mash (hit and miss) trying tO copY past. Dictation started out great and has gotten worse, taking Siri with it. Why on earth are common names like Brian now coming out as Bryan? Well at least it still triggers, which is more than I can say for dictation on mY M4 MAX MacBook Pro. Oh hell I could go on for hours talking about how poorly this AI is working and yes I know it needs time, but frankly for use on a phone, I don't need these features. They slow us down, theY don't make anYthing easier or even a better experience. Am I going crazy? I are these thing mentioned working for you? Would anyone dare or care to add their own frustrations to this rant? Anyway Merry Christmas everyone - Go Lions!!

CT1211, I can sympathize. This 16 Pro Max has only been the best phone for me, not a great “AI phone”. Though I find whoever gets mad over it on the forums a tad silly, it DOES genuinely come off as a waste of resources at times. How come the new Siri animation’s out, but the new Siri… just isn’t? Well, except it’s coming out in stages. How embarrassing!

Genmoji and Image Playground, as I’ve shared in a different thread, are patently just toys. Have also found little use for Writing Tool except for when I’m bored. Apple Intelligence is actually somewhat good at rewriting random texts in Olde English! Other than that, we know it’s just not the paradigm shift they’ve been making it out to be. Already a tad skeptical on the personal context awareness, plus the reports claiming that it’s delaying iOS 19 work… Now that was confounding.

Merry Christmas to you as well.

AI (the "I" is misleading, it's really just algorithms) is a tech-bro scam that exploits and plagiarises from real people (it needs to be trained on real data, usually stolen or used without permission), has fooled CEOs who think they need waste money and resources to cash in on a tech trend, has way too many privacy and ethical issues, and eats up way too much energy just to generate the wrong guesses most of the time.

I needed apple intelligence to summarise your long post.
