I took my original MB back due to the cpu whine and the noisy PSU...

The replacement machine whines as well :(
The PSU whines again although not as noisy as the original one I had.

My Mac owning colleague thinks I'm being too obsessive about it all as he can't hear it - he can't seem to hear high frequencies as well as I can! (volume limiting ipod firmware anyone? :D )

Anyway there was another issue with the replacement machine. The trackpad wasn't stuck down properly on the left hand side, it looked like someone just left it drop in place without pressing it down as it was curved up. I pressed it down but it's not been lined up accurately enough and it's a bit 'proud' on the edge where it meets the main palm rest area.

A little more disconcerting was the way the rest of surround/bezel doesn't seem to be stuck down properly. If you close the lid and look around, any raised areas can be easily spotted. I took a few quick pics...

Do you think I'm being unreasonable to reject this one as well? :(

Anyway, I'll see what the Apple Store has to say tomorrow!

Looks like Apple should stop using Elmer's to hold their computers together.

Take it back.

Steve: "BUT HOW ON EARTH DID YOU KNOW THAT!? THAT'S A TRADE SECRET!"
