Hey all! I'm completely new to this forum and I'm utterly flabbergasted!

I was given an iPhone 3G By one of my best mates because he was upgrading to the 3GS, but the only problem is the sim tray is broken so the phone cant recognise the sim. We think theres damage on the inside too because we can see lights from the screen through the hole where the sim goes. I've had it jailbroken before and the guy who did it for me managed to activate the iPhone without a sim. But last week my PC crashed on me and sent the iPhone into system restore and i lost everything he had done. So i aint gonna justify paying £50 to redo the unlocking stuff!

I've just tried Jailbreaking it with QuickPwn but iTunes cant recognise the phone without a Sim. Im happy just to use the phone as an iPod touch at the moment because I'm on Orange and happy with my current phone (when my contract runs out I'll be taking up a contract on an iphone with orange)

So I want to know how do I activate the phone without a sim?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

regards

Andrew

Use Blackra1n and it will unlock your IPhone without the SIM

Which i had done earlier on today then unlocked for my SIM

Dide you try downloading the Custom IPSW for 3.1.2. and restore it using that file then after

use blackrain and it should automatically unlock without an problems (Hopefully)

OMG thank you guys!!! Just used blackra1n Ive been sitting here for 4 hours trying to figure everything out and black rain did it in less than 1 minute!!! YOu guys are Legends!!!

MANY MANY THANKS!!!
