Hello

As i in market for a new monitor for my trashcan Mac Pro,
and I want something match the quality of my old Dell UP2715K (which discontinue).

The only one choice for me is a LG 5K Ultrafine. but it equip with TB3.
So it can't run on full spec on my Mac Pro.

So I decided to build my own iMac Display.

I bought 100% apple original LG-SDC1 5K display and display board from Chinese dealer.
I find an 27" A1419 iMac housing out of eBay.

I assembly process is straight. just use some glue to pin an internal component in an iMac.
put a panel on top of it.

and bang I got a new 5K display with genuine iMac looking.

total cost of process is around 650USD plus a shipping to Thailand.

Terrific!

How's the usability? Are the colors and quality the same using the chinese board? What does it look like from the back? And was it hard to do?

The color is great match a UP2715K which qualify Dell premium panel guaranteed (Factory calibrate).
