I've jailbroken my iPhone 3g since day one (one year ago). I've been experiencing more issues lately what its worth. For examples, the cell/data signals are weak, almost no 3g when compared to iPhones that are not jailbroken in the same room. Phone gets suck and a reboot is required. All iTunes purchased Apps dies after the reboot.
Having the ability to tether via PDANet is nice, running Slingbox over 3g is cool too, but I'm not getting good 3g signals so it makes the apps useless. So I am going to revert back to standard OS 3.0.1.

Are any of you having the same experience/thoughts?

No way. I never jailbroken my 3G but I have my 3GS jailbroken and it would e giving up too much to go back.

JAILBREAKING MEANS U R ASKING FOR PROBLEMS!:D

switch to BlackBerry NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, the EDGE and 3G signals don't switch around never, unlike the iphone......:D

Edge/3G switching has nothing to do with the phone. I only get Edge if I'm in a non 3G area, which is rare. Usually it's 3G all the time, unless I'm home, then it's WiFi.

Yeah right.
Whats the jailbreak have to do with signal flunctiation? I never heard that before.
Sounds more like an AT&T issue than a JB prob. You think you'll get better signal with stock firmware?

Strange that you find yourself in an iPhone Hacks forums then?

To the OP...why not revert to 3.0.1 and then jailbreak again and then gradually install apps, maybe just put on the ones you really need/want? It's strange that it's causing all these problems for you.

CLEARLY U DID NOT UNDERSTOOD ME!, I NEVER said anything about if you jailbreak ur iphone, it will mess around it's signal! i just said to the guy that he should switch to blackberry

b/c i know the iphone switches a lot from 3G to EDGE a lot!!!!!!

Quote: "For examples, the cell/data signals are weak, almost no 3g when compared to iPhones" i used to own an iphone but i gave it for blackberry cause this was one of the reasons i switched!!!!!!!!!:D

I was replying to both the thread started and you.
I dont think the iphone has any signal problems with the latest firmware. If it does it needs to be switched out if its a defective phone.
I dont think different phones get different receptions, maybe a misconception.
If you're so happy with your BB what are you doing in the iphone hacks section? Obviously having regrets :D.........

I'm, replying to the last 3 threads

1- i don't have regrets
2- call me a blackberry sales spokesman, i don't care!:D
3- "MY" blackberry, omg! one letter! c'mon
4- i wasn't using a blackberry storm, i don't even have one!, do u guys read my signature under me!:D
5- i'm just trying to put my opinion in the table, but it looks like u guys feel insulted by a blackberry. :D
6- U guys r funny!

Have a good day:)

I'm gonna revert to stock OS and try it for a few weeks. I'll report back with my findings.

your blackberry doesn't even have 3g to switch back and forth from. its a edge phone only. no wifi either.

As for a Blackberry, if you like it, that's great. iPhone isn't your life support in this world.
As for giving him a hard time for being here. What better place to learn NOT to buy an iPhone. A lot of people in these forums criticize them a LOT. And the users mostly trash you if you ask a question the wrong way.
So, why not try being nice for a change. It won't kill you.

That sentence (if you can call it that) is full of fail.

I had signal problems when I jailbroke. I've done it twice in the last week and gone back to stock both times because I was having problems similar to the OP's. JB offered some really cool things, but it made my phone a lot less stable. Just my experience.

I'm also thinking I need to restore my iPhone to stock... Since I used redsn0w to jailbreak my 3GS on 3.0.1, I have been having issues with stock apps freezing, not rotating the keyboard, and other such strangeness. I did not have any of these issues with 3.0 and purplera1n. Not sure if I'll rejailbreak or wait until a reliable 3.1 jailbreak is released...
