I'm using the super polished version of Dreamcast by Performace, and I've used Altivec whenever possible. I'm not a programmer, but I believe that if the community comes together, we can release a stable version that runs decently on a G4.

There is more information about the project in the readme.

If there is interest, the community can also have a hand in Source Engine and Half Life 2 port.
There is also a source engine port on github for ppc but without altivec and only for linux (created for wii) but it doesn't work.

I wanted to do a decent job, squeezing every drop that the Mac can offer, but I discovered that Apple did a horrible job creating OSX, and simply ******** on the heads of those who bought their products, especially the driver for ATI Radeon 9xxx of the Powerbooks, which doesn't even have decent support for OGL 2.0.

This and the lack of a decent browser, made me decide that it would be better to build a distro exclusively for PowerPC G4 and port games from it, with modern tools, a modern kernel, open source... This allows me to squeeze every drop of juice, and take the G4 out of the obsolescence caused by Apple.
