First off, you better get an iPhone soon before you get stuck with one that has 1.1.3 out of the box. There are a few guides (here is one) on how to fake the activation on the phone. If you follow that guide, DO NOT FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS. You stop after it's jailbroken on 1.1.2, so don't go on to the preparing the turboSIM part. You also need to buy a SIM card that you shove into the phone with your T-Mobile SIM that will fake the phone into thinking it's an at&t SIM. I got mine off ebay for $26.50 including shipping. It's all fairly easy to do as long as you follow the instructions. I hope this helps.

where can i get one thats not 1.1.3? and if i cut the sim does that mean i cant use it with my old phone anymore?

I got mine about two weeks ago from an Apple store directly. They may have 1.1.3 in the stores now that 1.1.3 has been out for a few weeks.

I actually have my old, cut SIM in my Windows Mobile phone as I type this (had to copy contacts off the SIM to put onto the iPhone), so yes, it should still work in your old phone. You just remove a little bit of the card. I cut the angled corner just a little bit more than what was already missing. Anyway, good luck, and let us know if you need more info.

Buy an iPhone at an AT&T store!! and fast!! before you get stuck with 1.1.3

I already went to an at&t store and the lady said that the ones they have there apple has blocked from bein hacked or something so ill have to figure something out

The supposedly have them all blocked from being hacked. Pretty much anything is capable of being hacked. I was told I had to sign a 2 year agreement at the at&t store if I went there to get my iPhone, so I drove an hour and a half one way in a snowstorm to buy mine. Good luck finding one!

Not a good idea!!! The at&t store will make you sign a contract.

I bought mine at the AT&T store and they just requested I buy the iPhone with my Credit Card which I did. After the Credit check in iTunes I was prompted to make a new AT&T account because I had none (which is true as I was a sorry Verizon costumer).

Conclusion = I had no account on AT&T and I had to create one. Contract in the AT&T store? Maybe, depends on the clerk.

theres an apple store in the mall near by where i can get one but if i get the one with v 1.1.3 can i still use it with t-mobile?

The reason she told you that is because you basically told her you were gonna unlock it. You don't "sign" an agreement until you get home, connect it to iTunes and go through the activation procedure.

and one more thing if you do hack it can you still connect it to itunes and get all your songs on it and stuff?

alright. im still cnfused about some of this but i thik ill get one anyway and we will see what happens

Reason people are telling you to get one quick is that the 1.1.3 firmware will be more challenging to unlock and hack. The 1.1.2 firmware has been out for awhile so there are more guides on that.

1.1.2 out of the box cannot be software unlocked. You have to use the TurboSim method (see the second post of this thread).

You basically have to jailbreak the phone first which is to break past the security mechanisms Apple has put on the phone so that you can write files to the iPhone and install programs.

Apart from jailbreaking, the phone will work like a regular non hacked phone so it will be sync-able with iTunes. Just don't upgrade the firmware through the official ways (i.e. iTunes) if you want the phone to remain hacked.
