I have my MP7,1 and my late 2016 15" rMBP13,3 connected with a Cat7 wire. I use the Promise SANLink 3 to translate the 10G wire to USB-C on my MBP13,3. The link acquires its own IP addresses at each end.

Using AJA on the MP7,1 I typically see a good 1000 MB/s for writing to the MBP and some 800 MB/s reading from the MBP.

On my MP7,1 I have Wi-Fi, normal 1G ethernet for the local LAN and internet access, and the 10G for connecting to the MBP. I setup the Service order in the Network pane to be...

1) 10G
2) 1G
3) Wi-Fi

This seems to work most of the time for using the 10G for data being moved between the MP7,1 and the MBP. However, I do see at times this data movement is being done over Wi-Fi with transfer rates dropping to around 60 MB/s, and I don't quite understand this. When I detect this, I have to turn off Wi-Fi and 1G on the MP7,1, wait a few seconds and then reconnect the wi-Fi and 1G to regain 10G speeds.

The reason for having 10G for my MBP is that all my local external storage (some 70 TB of spinning disks in Promise Pegasus2 & 3 units) I require at times for my MP7,1 is connected to the MBP.

The AJA on my MP7,1 for moving data to/from my MBP is shown attached.

To compare the 10G connection with a TB3 (TCP/IP of Thunderbolt 3) connection between the MP7,1 and the MBP I connected a TB3 cable directly between the MBP and the MP7,1 using one of the TB3 ports on the top casing of the MP7,1. I ran the same AJA test as in my OP and show its results attached.

For comparison, the 10G and TB3 connections show similar results with a slight edge going to the 10G connection.

and you're sure it's a TB3 cable (with a 3 written on the plug) and not a USB-C cable?
the speed would rather be USB
