I'm sick of searching... Can I restore?

I've been holding off on posting a new thread about this, because I figured I wouldnt be the only one that wants to know this... So I have been searching online, and on the forums, but I still can't find a definite answer. I have also read ALL of the "So you accidentally upgraded to 3.1.3...", "Is your phone jailbreakable...", "Jailbreak Matrix" stuff... But I dont think any of those address the people that are already jb.

I had a 3gs on 3.1.2 and I started having the common blackra1n/blacksn0w problems like signal drop outs, wifi stuff, etc.

So, Im on a PC and dont have access to a Mac to use PwnageTool... So I figured sn0wbreeze couldnt be that bad, and decided to make a custom 3.1.3 so that I could start over with a new jb, and I would avoid blackra1n as much as possible. So I did it. I am now on sinfuliphone's custom 3.1.3, with the 5.11.07 bb. And I really dont have many complaints about the jb, but I think I'm still having blacksn0w problems from the previous jb.

I just want a reliable jb, that doesnt give me the stupid signal drop problems. And I realize how much I miss my native tethering from 3.1.2. So, I want to know if since I am already jb on 3.1.3, if I can successfully dowgrade to a 3.1.2 custom fw? I dont have SHSH's for the 3.1.2, but the phone is pwned.

I dont care about my unlock anymore. I am with ATT, but I thought that later down the road an unlocked phone would be nice for resell... but it sounds pretty promising that we'll see a new unlock for the new bb in the near future. What I would love to do would be to restore/upgrade the bb to a more reliable (non-blacksn0wed) bb, and get back to the 3.1.2 fw.

I did notice this post https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/882558/ about restoring the bb... which I would be fine with.

So... Is it possible for me to get back to 3.1.2, and restore my bb?
I do have an old bootromed 3gs.

It seems like we are constantly trying to walk you thru this jailbreak and restore thing, week after week. And when we recommend to use Redsn0w you use Sn0wbreeze.

In all honesty, I don't know what Sn0wbreeze has done to your phone.

If your phone is currently pwned (may not be due to using sn0wbreeze), it has old bootrom, not tethered jailbreak, and you can get into recovery mode, get a custom restore 3.1.2 IPSW and try to use iTunes to install it.

Unless your phone meets all 3 conditions, this won't work.

Yeah, as I mentioned in one of my other posts... I'm still just trying to figure all this new stuff out. The old 3g I had was a little easier.

But thanks for your help, I really do appreciate it. Obviously everyone starts off with tons of questions, and I dont feel like there is a great place to start out on these forums because everything is always changing with new updates, new jb tools, new unlocks, new problems. Unless you have been jailbreaking since the beginning, its hard to stay on top of everything, and it can be very overwhelming.

I have always hated forums, because it seems like a big pride race. Everyone is trying to be the person with the most posts, or has been a member longer, etc. But the reason I come to this site is because I know there is a big community of people here that will help me, without flaming too much.

With the exception of those foolish people rushing to update to 3.1.3, very little has really changed since the introduction of 3.1.2 some time ago. Mostly the same tools (although Redsn0w is now available for PC) and same restrictions.
