Somewhere Back In The Long Ago
And trying just ONE game on my iMac. (not Windows no bootcamp) I looked at the App store, and notice they are selling COD for £4.99.

I once played this game briefly on an xbox (I think) will it show off my iMacs graphic abilities?

Which CoD, Modern Warfare (i.e. 4)? CoDs aren't exactly the best looking games IMO, but they are still okay.

It's The First zone

Simply titled Call Of Duty. They are also selling the GTA series cheaply, but frankly the concept doesn't really appeal to me. If I want just one game and one only, I like sci-fi stuff FEAR CRYSIS type games when I did play.

Something similar for the iMac to play occasionally would be nice.

Bioshock.

Is sci-fi'ish, a shooter, excellent story, great atmosphere and visuals, a GOTY, and is on the App Store. Worth the price IMO though it's from a few years ago.

I'll Check It Out

None of the FEAR or Crysis games have been ported to mac yet, another favourite of mine was the Max Payne series...Two great games that I actually finished!

On COD has gone....Now £20.00, makes Bioshock seem like a good idea, screenshots look good too.

I haven't played the Mac port of Bioshock but I've heard it runs well. Bioshock is still one the best games I've ever played! They did a great job with the atmosphere like somebody else said. Gameplay is awesome, being able to interact with the world in different ways allowed for varied and creative game play. (i.e. You see an enemy standing on a trail of oil with a pool of water not too far away. Use fire to set the oil on fire thus catching him on fire in the process. He jumps in the water to put the fire out so you shock the living crap out of the water and watch him turn get electrified to death!)

Bioshock is very fun, played on 360 so not sure how the controls are (probably fine).

I've stepped a bit further back in time and am playing Neverwinter Nights 2 and KOTOR (in between Skyrim on 360). Really enjoying NWN2.

The original cod is super dated anyways. Bio shock would be a much better choice between the two. Especially if you want to test out graphic abilities.

Wow

Great recommendation all....Cranked all settings up to Max! Smooth as silk, and very impressive....Now all I have to do is learn how to play...:D I may be some time when I start playing properly.

It might be a little dated, but it sure shows off my iMac!

Thanks again!

Out Of Practice

This game is showing me what happens when you don't game for a few years...:) It's going to take me a while to get back into the way of things again!

Nice views of the city though! I considered starting on the medium setting, but glad I chose easy now.....At the rate I'm going this should last me until the App store has more games available!

Enjoy. BioShock should contain longer game play than COD. I beat the latest COD MW in a day.

A good non-FPS game that is long is: Batman Arkham Asylum.
