So someone approached me to trade off their Blackbook, at 2.16Ghz, 1 GB ram, 160Gb no upgrades, as is, with no Santa Rosa chipset which really disappointed me when I found out. It was purchased on her end sometime around September 07.

My current PC laptop specs are here..

Hp Pavilion at 15'4 inches, glossy screen
GeForce 7150 at 256Mb
160Gb
2.0 Ghz Dual Core AMD TL-58
2 GB Ram

along with 500$ in cash.

In terms of age, it was also purchased around September.

Would you recommend this trade? I've always wanted a Macbook...especially a pretty black one. In terms of usage, I don't play games on laptop unless it's Starcraft or games with graphics on World of Warcraft level, nothing higher.

Opinions, guidance....any other issues that Black Macbooks made around September 2007 maybe suffer from? I really hope Blackbooks prior to the santa rosa upgrade doesn't run THAT slow...

I wouldn't do it. You can get a pre-SR Macbook for $1000 online or less. I'd hang on to the HP until it stops serving your needs.

Just do the math dude, these aren't rare collectibles. If it makes sense money wise, then do it.

I couldn't agree more.
If you really want a Macbook, ebay your HP, add the 500 you were going to trade and go buy a refurb.
