It's kind of amazing and I'm wondering how many others did this.
Well so I like many tethering users, used the 3.0 GM method of tethering and simply never upgraded. But it killed my vvm and I couldn't update so I didn't get mms either. So I decided last night to upgrade and then Jailbreak so I could get all three.
Turns out I didn't have to.
I upgraded but then when it asked me to update carrier settings, I decided to see if leaving it alone would keep my tethering. As luck had it, it kept my tethering, and turned on my vvm and mms. Never had to jailbreak.
Also I've been tethering fairly heavily since the day after os 3.0 came out, and never have seen a spike in my att bill or had my contract cancelled.
Am I the only one? Has anyone else with this hack tried upgrading the OS without updating carrier settings?
