And here's what it looks like:

If you wanna know how to do it... it's very simple.

First run PwnageTool and create a custom firmware from the 2.1 firmware.
Then change the firmware extension from ipsw to .zip and expand it.
Then open the first disk image and extract MobileSafari.app from the Applications folder.
Then SSH into your iPhone, backup MobileSafari.app and copy the MobileSafari.app from 2.1 into the Applications folder.
Then, reboot or kill the SpringBoard.

To me, this is a better browser layout.

Note: I haven't experienced any crashes since doing this.
 
I wonder if you could get the interface of 2.1, but with the 2.2 software... If ya know what I mean :D

Just tried it. The layout is actually coded in the MobileSafari executable file, so I cannot use the interface from 2.1 on 2.2 without replacing the entire app. Safari has been working fine for me. Hasn't crashed once.
