My iMac has been a great machine to work on as a larger screen upgrade from an old 13" MBP, the challenge I'm having is that there are tens of thousands of songs and hundreds of movies on my iTunes from the MBP that I want to access via Firewire 800 ports that both machines have.

The MBP is connected to a henge doc and its ports are connected so I have access but I want options on how to copy the MBP iTunes library to the MBP or access it from other machines connected to the Airport Extreme A1254.

Is this doable or am I trying to teach a pig to sing?

What I have tried so far.
  1. Connecting them and adding shared libraries, no go.
  2. Firewire connection via pressing T on the keyboard which I can't do as I use a henge dock so its a vertical slide-in-dock. This way its always charged and I can access the laptop which I don't use as much anymore.
  3. Open to ideas and what if obvious choices as I am a bit of a noob.
