Today I was at Comp USA and looking at the iMacs and mac minis. This summer I am plaining on buying an iMac (or mac mini but prob an iMac) and when I was trying out the iMac 17 inch the screen looked REALLY REALLY grainy, It just looked REALLY bad. Dose anyone know if all the 17" iMacs are like this or just this one I mean it is on all the time maybe its just gotten old. And after doing the math an iMac 17 inch would not only be cheaper than the Mac mini after buying a screen and keyboard and mouse. So the iMac IS the best deal but if the iMacs screen is that crappy then I might as well get a Mac mini just cause of the better screen. Those that have the 17 inch do you think it looks good? But WOW the 24" was AWSOME I might just have to save up and get it!

I have a 17" iMac and I think the display looks as good as the 20" ACD I am extending the desktop onto. It is either a bad screen or resolution in the store.

all the new display's in apple products are, it's the anti glare cover they use, my ibook has the best display i have ever seen, no graininess and beautiful colours, so i guess from 2004 onwards they started using it, it's annoying, but there nothing you can do

I just bought a 17 inch, and the screen is not grainy at all. In fact it's way better than any non-Mac computer I've ever used. It's bright (but I understand not as bright as the 20 and 24 inch models) with a lot of definition and dimention. But you should probably spend the extra money for the 20 inch.
