I'm am wondering how well the 2.0 model would handle World of Warcraft at different settings. I am looking into a mac to hold some extra media and such as well as a 2nd computer ( I have a feeling in the end it would be used quite a lot) and it would be nice to see how well it would handle WoW. Has anybody had experience with this model? what are your video settings at? Thanks

New iMacs and WoW

I don't actually have one of the new iMacs yet, but I have read a number of different threads about them and how well the handle games.

It would be worth your while to take a few minutes and search the forums. There was a fairly interesting thread last week concerning the 24" at full resolution. The 20" was also discussed.

Hope this helps.:D

i was playing with by buddy yesterday for the first time, we had the same settings, on comparable computers, you can see my specs, and he has the same, but with the aluminum iMac, so he has a better processor(2.4) and vc(radeon 2600 hd) I was pushing about 25fps, and he said he was getting 40. That is with everything maxed out, except AA. I had it off, and he had it about half way up. I was running Leopard(which supposedly runs it faster) and he was on Tiger, he upgrades today, so i will have to see if his framerates are higher or lower.:apple:

Hey thats great thanks I really want to get one now :D I knew it would play it well but 25-40 with things maxed out is great I'm happy thanks for your post.

Performance is decent on the new iMacs with the exception of full screen glow (esp in Leopard believe it or not).

We'll see if we can get that figured out for the people that can't live without the glow effect.
