Hello,

My refurbished 24 inch iMac has got some major yellowing issues. I currently don't live very close to an Apple store so wanted to get some feedback here before I took it in. I currently have about another 4 months or so on Applecare, will they replace the screen?

Attached a photo its taken with my iPhone but hopefully it can get the point across.

Thanks for the help!

This is something that is just there out of the box. I am not sure how you could have this unit for so long and just now notice yellowing.

So I called and they determined over the phone that it was a "hardware issue" and not software and told me to bring it in to an Apple store and that the repair would be covered by Applecare. They did not specifically say what would be replaced though, i've read through some other threads and most people would be returning them after recently purchasing and just getting a replacement on the spot.

What exactly do you think would be repaired?

Why don't you just wait and see?

I was more just asking to figure out how long they would have it for. In the middle of final exams can't go without a computer until they are done if it's going to take a long time.

Then why not do the obvious and ask them!

Surely it's obvious that whoever is going to carry out the repair is going to have a more realistic idea of how long the job will take than members of a forum who have no idea at all! :)
