I have no idea what is going on. My Imac started feeling a bit slow, so I decided to reformat to hope it would become faster, but no.

Even under a new format it still kinda feel sluggish. Sometimes WoW performance is poor, it can't handle youtube fluently etc, imovie is a complete mess to work with.. takes forever to get anything done.

Compared to when I got it less than a year ago, it was blazing fast back then. Now it feels very slow.

I have gotten a problem with the screen. It looks like that there are permanent marks on the top parts of the screen. It's almost like there is dust or greasy fingers from inside the screen.
If dust have gone into the screen, could it be that dust have also gone into the rest of the computer and made it slow/overheat or something?

I have no idea what the problem is or what to do. I updated all my programs and everything, I have few programs installed to keep bloatware down, the 1 TB hard drive is almost completely empty(900 GB free). I just don't know what to do...

You say its less than a year old so definitely speak to Apple about this, book an appointment at an Apple store if possible. Something's not right and there shouldn't be any marks under the screen. I've got no idea what could be wrong but do the marks look like they might have been caused by heat? Maybe a part inside is overheating and causing the damage. Probably not but its just a thought. Since it should still be covered by Applecare, get it looked at. Fast.

It appears that your hard drive is nearing the end of its life. That happened to me, the slowness and after about a week (after reinstalling MacOS) it was going very slow. the main reasons for computers going slow is because the hard drive is always being accessed. hard drives are the BIGGEST bottle necks in any computer.

make sure you have a time machine backup just incase. if/when you hard drive fails all you will need to do is plug in the cable and thats it.

Agreed, however, the marks on the screen are worrying and shouldn't be there in a machine less than a year old.

Ok, thanks guys.

I got my Mac on Apple.com . Should I still go with it to the store? (I have a local Apple retailer in my area called Humac < They handle all Mac related items in Denmark).

Check with Applecare on the phone first but yeah that'd probably be the best place to take it.

I've heard of that problem before on another forum - it was a defect with the glass (and created strange looks lines/smears inside the screen). Make sure you get Apple to look at it / take it back to a store
