Hi Guys,

I am waiting for delivery of my new Imac (2.8 "gb 2Gb 8800GS 24"...) on Wednesday ( I ordered last wednesday..they take ages).. looking around for memory ... found Crucial UK compatible Memory for about £70 ... and Kinsgton 4Gb Kit (KTA-MB800K2/4G) for around £85...

Do you think the Kinsgton Ram is worth the extra £15 over the crucial 'compatible' one??

Cheers.

Just make sure the Crucial is 800 MHz, either one should be fine. There is no difference in performance between two brands of compatible Mac RAM. Look at the warranty and return policies - make sure you wouldn't have to ship a warranty return out of country.

you can find heaps of good quality 2GB ram modules on eBay.co.uk. expect to pay around half the price then when ordering from an online store.

Kingston & Crucial are both reputable companies when it comes to ram.

best of luck.
