iMac 20" 2.4ghz Keeps changing the time.

Hi all,

Each day when i either turn on the iMac or wake it up from sleeping, the time changes back 6 to 10 hours. Each time. I have set it to automatically change the time, I have unchecked that one, I have locked it but each time it turns on it changes the time. Very frustrating and I don't know what else to check. Any help would be great. I have leopard OS if that helps.

That's usually a symptom of the little battery on the motherboard going. But as your Mac is so new it can't be that. Can it?

What region are You in?
If You are in the states lets say but you set you region to Toykio for instance your time will be set automatically to that time.
You could disable automatic time but You really should check to what region it is set to.
If that is wrong,you set it to the right one and it should work.
I am not behind my mac now,it died but I think its in your time preferences.

I checked my automatic configuration and it is was to Indianopolis IN which is the same time zone as I am in.

Another test last night. I shut the system off when I left. I booted up this morning and the time WAS correct. So I thought maybe it has to do with booting to XP. So I did, the time was still correct in the XP side too. I rebooted back to OS and the time was incorrect. When I clicked the Time & Date tool, it had corrected itself.

So as far as I can tell, it must have something to do with booting back and forth between the operating systems. Still do not understand why but hopefully this might jog someone's memory.
