iMac 20" boots OS X much faster after firmware update

Has anyone else noticed this? I updated the firmware and also installed XP. Booting into OS X is now REALLY really quick, I can barely notice the blue progress bar when the system comes up.

i havent been on my MBP after updating it, but Apple claim it boots twice as fast as before, i think. Just goes to show what a little cleaning of coding can do to a system

hah... just thinking, in OS 8 and 9, it used to take like a half an hour for all the start-up puzzle pieces to appear when the system was booting.

I haven't noticed a major increase in speed, but it was fast in the first place.

Word of note, I got a spinning beachball after the 10. 4. 6 update. So I reran "delocalizer". Pulls another gb of space off my hard drive AFTER the update. Don't ask me why. Now, and after a fresh round of MacJanitor, the machine does feel speeeedy.

I'm talking about both my powerbook 12" 1.5ghz 1.25gb ram and my Tibook 550mhz 60gig 7200rpm hd 1gb ram.

Mine was like lightning after the firmware update..even faster then before, I'd say. I didn't clock it, but I would guess around 20 seconds.
