I have a 20" Imac 2.4ghz. When I try to get movies off my Sony DVD camcorder I get a message that my dvd is blank. I know for sure there is footage on the dvd and have watched it on the camcorder. Am I doing something wrong? thanks for any help!

Need more info. What software are you using? How is the camera connected?
Have you set the camcorder to VTR mode?
It's been a while since we wrestled with the sony DVD cameras, and we never had great success making them work. I do seem to recall that the disks had to be finalized before a MAc could read them.
Things may have changed since I last tried and this was 10.3 at the time.

Likewise, the compatability issues a few years back was the reason why I chose to stay with miniDV tape instead of the mini-DVD camcorders from Sony.
have you checked to see if the recorder 'finalized' the disk? I have a DVD recorder, and if I don't finalize the disk it can't be read.
