My alt/option key on the right side recently started malfunctioning: instead of acting as a Modifier Key, it seems to effectively simultaneously hit F9-F11 (that is, all the view desktop/sort windows functions). I disabled those functions in System Prefs, and now the key outputs "-]\" to a text box, or if tapped repeatedly: "-]\-]\-]\-]\-]\-]\9-]\-]\-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\99-‘«-]\9-]\9-]\-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\9-]\9".

I'm running a 1.83Ghz 17" Intel iMac, purchased in late August 2006, so the keyboard is plastic. MacOSX 10.4.10. Added an extra gig of Mushkin Memory in May of this year to push me up to 1.5gb. Also, soda was spilled on the machine at some point this summer, but up till now, the only issue has been the left Command key not working: the right Command key works just fine. Also, it seems that the left alt/option key is also out of commission too. It's possible that I just haven't had a use for the alt/option key for the past month or so, but if that's not the case, it seems like the damage from the soda is spreading. Is that possible? Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated.
