iMac 2008 / possible 2 steps authentication wake up or log in??

Hello friends, I need to know if it is possible to set up 2 steps verification when someone try to wake up or login in on a iMac 2008 and having iPhone or Apple Watch functioning as and authenticator?? Thank you in advance.

I don't know if 1password can do it since I don't use the service.

There's no built in feature that allows 2-step login on any Mac. I also couldn't find anything online in a quick search except tools for 'pluggable' USB keys to unlock the computer.
