Hi,

So I bought an iMac 24-inch, 2009 model, at least thats what the seller told me it was. i bought it for 40$ because the seller said the imac wouldn't turn on. I thought i'd buy this as a little project and try and see if i would be able to bring it back to life. currently, the iMac doesnt do anything when pressing the power button. no chime, screen or anything.

I was wondering if someone has a fix for this, i tried the following things.

(the seller told me that he had it checked by someone who confirmed the iMac receives power)

- tried other outlets
- tried swapping the power cable (tried the one that came with the 24-inch mac on another mac and it worked on the other mac)
- tried removing the ram cards
- replaced the rams and cleaned the slot

also, weirdly, the iMac was missing the sticker with the serial number and everything.

what should my next step be?

I'd have to agree with the post above.
It might be the power supply, or something else.
It's not worth putting any money into.

If you want a Mac, get one that works.

Open it up, pull the HDD and ram.

Mark it off as a learning experience. a2
