Ok, first, I know these are two completely different issues, but I'm going to post them in one thread anyways.
I recently bought the imac 27" i7 2.93GHz, and it's a beautiful, quiet and monstrous piece of equipment. I love it, except for these two giant issues. Please don't give me those obvious solutions, I already feel like I searched the whole internet and I'm anything but a computer novice.
1. I also bought an MDP->DVI cable to hook up my external 19" display. It doesn't work... at all. If I use my brothers MDP->VGA adapter, it works. The screen has both VGA and DVI, so I obviously went for the DVI-approach. Solutions? (Please don't advise me to just buy a VGA-adapter, i don't want to throw another 30 out the door).
2. I (legally) downloaded a copy of windows 7 of the msdnaa. I burned it to a dvd, wanted to install it through bootcamp. Now when I select install windows, the imac reboots, and gives me a black screen with a blinking cursor. It's a known problem to certain imacs, but not mine. I tried the solution here, but it doesn't work. What more can I do?
