So I have a 2011 iMac 27 inch and I need apple to load the OS on it (long story). My question is will they actually work on this? Will they charge a fee? Asking for a friend. :)

No, a 2011 iMac 27" according to Apple is considered "obsolete" which means they won't work on it. However, any independent Apple service repair would probably work on it. Best to ask first though.

It might help if you explain why you need "Apple" to load the OS...?
(this doesn't make sense)

"I guess OP doesn't know how to do a fresh install of Mac OS and would like someone else do that for him."

Then... it's time for him to LEARN how to do it.

It depends where he lives and how much he is willing to pay.
For instance, if he lived where I live, it would cost him only 23$ to get the full labour service of RAM upgrade + SSD replacement + OS install.

Probably a heath and safety issue as i doubt most weedy geniuses could lift a 2011 iMac onto the testing desk? 🙄
