Imac 2011 as external screen for macbook air M1

Hi,
I have an 27 inch 2011 Imac and i would like to use it as external monitor for my macbook air M1
Does anyone did this before? Apple says it doesnt work.

My options;
2 cables from Apple (Thunderbolt 3 to 2) and (thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 2)
unofficial upgrade 2011 Imac to the newest version?

Does anyone have other options what worked?

The 2011 iMac only does Target Display Mode via Thunderbolt, and that doesn't work using an M1 Mac as the source AFAIK. So that won't work.
You can try Luna Display though.
