Hi,

I am not sure that I have ever gotten my iMac to connect to the internet using my iPhone hotspot. The iMac connects to the wifi hotspot, but Safari does not load any websites. (Tried rebooting, forgetting connection, re-adding connection, etc.) This works seamlessly with an iPad (so, I know how it should work and it does work for the iPad).

Having my iMac use my iPhone has not been a priority in the past, but for some reason the landline is down and Centurylink cannot send someone out for 12 day. So, it’s now a priority to get this to work, if possible.

So, a 2012 iMac with the latest Big Sur release should theoretically connect to the internet over a iPhone hotspot (just like an iPad), correct? Do I need to do anything else—like disconnect or turn off the ethernet connection??

Thank, in advance, for any assistance or recommendations.

Cheers.
