Hi all, Coming across mixed results on this one so thought id ask here.

I have a 27 inch late 2013 Imac with a cracked front glass. Is it possible for a repair technician to replace the glass and not the whole LCD (which is fine)

has anyone done this? just wondering what the cost is likely to be. I am UK based

The only option is a new screen at around $500.00.

Don't let anyone tell you it is a simple job. The screen is glued in with double sided tape and the only thing worse than a broken screen is two broken screens.

Mentioned this before but you may not have seen it. Friend in Sydney is a large Mac Reseller in Sydney and he does not let his technicians crack them. After five broken screens at $500 per pop, he trucks them across to the Apple Warehouse and lets their own techos do them.
