I want to hook up a UHD tv to my 2017 iMac 27”. Do I need a wretched dongle to get UHD output? For 60 hz? For 30?

I have an old Thunderbolt 2 to HDMI adaptor, but nothing for USB 3. I’m hoping to avoid #donglelife

Buy a new cable then.
I would use a mini display port on usb c to display port if your TV has a display port. Like this.

If not then a USB C to HDMI 2.0 should work fine as well.
