Hey guys,

I have the following specs for my iMac:

MacOS Mojave
Imac Retina, 2017
3.4 GHz Intel Core i5
8GB 2400 MHz DDR4

for the last 2 months, I have gone freelance fulltime. I work as a UI/UX designer. Since then as my office is at home and I'm using this machine morning to night, the performance it feels is getting slower and slower. I installed the app called CLEAN MY MAC and tried to free things up and clean it, and it says all clean but the performance never improves.

What is my solution here? Should I reinstall OS and reset my Mac? As I'm new in my own business I really don't want to spend money on a new computer but I was considering just selling this and buying the iMac Pro.

The iMac I have, I've probably had it for 2 years now, I got it when it first came out.

Hi I downloaded this app and ran it but it really didn't make any sense to me what I need to do

Look at the report! It will show you the path to delete the processes that are old or needs to be updated. Us the path to find that process to MANUALLY delete that and then reboot!

Also use another free program to clear out of control caches called YASU to clear out old caches!

How do I find that out? Is it here, I took this screenshot

So are you saying, everything - including my OS to put on my external drive? I use Adobe Suite alot, so even that I should install on external?

i am using a 500gb silicon power ext drive, i think it's from 2012...should i get something better?

I also have this one just recently, I think this will be better right?

Samsung Portable SSD T5 1 TB USB 3.1 External SSD

Will this be good, it has good reviews

Your the best man, I ordered it and will try it

I was prepared to pay 3K for a Imac Pro, but it doesn't make sense coz what I have is still a decent iMac. It's just being too slow.

so when I get this, you mean just transfer everything onto that, so its the boot drive? Is there a guide how I should do this? Is it hard?

Just to confirm so I am clear, for example I use the Adobe Suite daily - so your saying even that should come from this external drive?
