Okay, so the subject probably wasnt very detailed but I am having a pretty specific issue as of late.

As a photographer, I shoot with Sony now. I use Lexar 64 gig cards, as well as sony 64 gig cards that are UHS3 in speed to handle 4k video.

As of late (both recent operating systems) I put my card in the reader and it wont recognize it. I have a card reader that I can plug it into and it works just fine.

Is there a reason why all of a sudden my factory SD card reader does not work (99% of the time)?

Thanks in advance.

Are NONE of the SD cards you have recognized by the iMac card slot?
Not a single one?

If you open Disk Utility, then insert a card, can DU "see the presence" of the card in the slot?

It -might- be something to do with SONY's formatting (just an off-the-wall guess).

Fishrrman's credo:
"When one method doesn't work, but another method does, use the one that works..."

I'd just use the card reader.
Which is what I do almost 100% of the time, myself.
