Hi guys,

I got my new iMac 2019 (i9 - 1TB SSD - Radeon) a week ago and noticed recently that the black coating on the bottom is coming off. I think it was there before I opened the box so my concern is that this could go bigger over the time, perhaps with usual cleaning.

I'm still under 14-day free return warranty. What do you think guys? Should I return it? It's a big issue (if not now maybe later?). If I don't return it now, is this covered under warranty ?

Thanks for your input.

Okay, maybe I should have tried this first. I passed several times the nail over, cleaned with the microfibre cloth and seems it disappeared. Now looks clean! Not sure what really was but it looked like the coating was ripping off...

All cool, thanks for your quick reply!

It looked like the adhesive didn't seal properly and that your gentle pressure forced the tiny airpocket out.

I work with adhesive materials and no reason to worry. It happens :)

I was thinking that as well. The cover is all clear, even on the edges. Look at it from an extreme side angle and you can see the black is on the bottom layer, which means it shouldn't be scraping off. Likely the adhesive. Hopefully it doesn't pop back up.
