Hi
I'm about to replace the 32Gb blade of my iMac 2019 with an Nvme SSD (with an adapter) and I would like to remove the HDD or at least to disconnect it.
But i'd read somewhere that if you change the HDD for ex, then the thermal sensor missing makes the fan to burst like hell all time.
So, the question is :
- Can I remove the HDD or disconnect the cable without having any issues ?
Thanks

Hi - if you unplug the cable from the logicboard then you won't have any issues with the fan.
It's if you keep the SATA cable plugged into the logicboard - this causes the fan to ramp up in speed.
