Hi, hoping for a little help here

I have a 2020 iMac with the i7 cpu.
I have problems with high temperatures (constantly 65c - 85c/ 149f -185f) at the same time it seems that the system is requesting the cpu core to run at max all the time.
I have no cpu demanding apps running so i don't get this behavior.
The few times where the system does not request the cpu to run at max the temps also go back to normal.

Any idea what could be causing this? How do i find out exactly what is requesting the core to run at max?

You need to look at the top of the Activity Monitor in order to find the process(es) utilizing most CPU time and percentage. Based on your screenshot, ‘homed’ is the culprit. You can try killing it, but perhaps you will have to disable some Home-related settings in order to prevent the process from firing up again.

I had the same problem a few weeks back on my iMac similar to yours. I was able to fix it by signing out of iCloud and then signing back in.
