I was wondering if anyone else is having a problem when connecting the Caldigit TS3 displayport and new imac 2020. I'm running a VGA cable from the monitor to an active displayport adapter into the TS3. The TS3 is connected via thunderbolt into the imac. All other ports on the TS3 work fine but whenever I try connecting the displayport my imac screen goes black, with a very swift occasional flash. This same exact set up works fine in my old mac mini so I know the cables/adapter, monitor and caldigit are working properly. I have done extensive troubleshooting, including with apple support (opened a case because they can't figure it out either) to no avail. Anyone out there experiencing this?

I have been having trouble connecting my old Apple HD Cinema Display 30-inch using a Mini-Displayport to USB-C Adapter and my old, now discontinued, Apple Dual-Link DVI to Mini-Displayport adapter. Haven't had any luck, but when troubleshooting the MDP -> USB-C adapter on an old Dell monitor using the VGA connection, I saw the same thing happen. I disconnected and reconnected the monitor to the iMac in a different order (don't recall exact order), and it connected fine. Try playing around with connecting the VGA into the TS3 via adapter, then into the iMac, then TS3 into the iMac then VGA into the TS3, etc.

If anyone is interested, the problem I've been having using the old Apple MDP -> Dual-Link DVI adapter is possibly that it needs a firmware update, but as it's no longer supported, I'm shelling out for a new dual-link DVI to USB-3 adapter and keeping my fingers crossed THAT work when it arrives!

I've also been having ongoing issues with external monitors blacking out using DisplayPort to USB-C adaptors with my iMac Pro and some Dell (and HP) displays. It's been driving me crazy for months. I finally upgraded to a usb-c native external monitor, and haven't had any issues whatsoever. I suspect there's some issue with Apple's USB-C implementation of DisplayPort not working correctly with non-usb-c native monitors.

On the off chance that anyone else has been issues connecting an old Apple HD Cinema Display 30-inch (M9179LL/A) to an iMac2020, the Dual-Link DVI to USB-C adapter I ordered did the trick!
