Got a supposed to be broken iMac 21" 2011, they removed the HD so I can't even test if it works unless I bother to connect back the detached connects which they didn't bother to put back of course.

Is there any part to save off of it should I have to trash it?

grazie

Insert a thumbdrive 32GB into USB.
  1. Switch on, then immediately press and hold down Command-Option-R
  2. Hold down those keys until you see a spinning globe and the message "Starting Internet Recovery.
If that works, you can install High Sierra onto the thumbdrive.
If you see nothing, the GPU is probably spoilt, as in most cases. If so, look for "GPU bake".

It would still sell for a good bit of money - as spares or repairs unless you want to test it properly.
