I know the 'groaning sound' is normal on any computer when you load up a big web page or application, but mine seems to do it louder than my brothers iMac (Same model and year).

It's not REALLY loud, but it's abit annoying, every time i click new web page or do anything it groans abit.

Don't buy a computer with a hard drive then. As for being louder, the two of your computers could have different brand hard drives.

I was just wondering that was all, thanks anyway.

So it is normal for it to do this noise?

Hard drives have to read and write at all times during a conputer's use. So yes what you are experiencing is probably normal. Don't forget the aluminum goes a long way in carrying the sound.
